ABOUT 

Samina Batyrova (Makhanbetazhiyeva) is a freelance photographer & videographer based in Toronto, Canada, and Astana, Kazakhstan, experienced in a wide range of styles such as commercial photo & videography, creative photo & video projects, event reportage, brand development and etc.

Born in 2000, in Kazakhstan, Samina Batyrova, got into the medium at the age of just 12. Since then she has been experimenting with her photography and video skills in her roles as a Director of Marketing and Advertising, Creative Executive and as a volunteer in numerous projects. She has moved to Canada at the age of 15 to St. Michaels University School, a boarding school in Victoria, BC. Currently, she's pursuing her studies in Commerce, with specialization in Marketing, at University of Toronto.

She started her photography journey from traveling around over 12 countries including Kazakhstan, Canada, Egypt, Turkey, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seychelles, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Georgia, South Korea, United States, documenting the local life and capturing beautiful views. Samina's artworks have been winning various photo competitions on different scales (community-wide, city-wide, provincial, republican) ever since she was 14, and have been showcased on numerous art shows.
